A New Covenant Fellowship with a New Commandment Mission

“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”

-St. Augustine’s Confessions, written 397-401 AD

Who we are . . .

Holy Trinity Church is a sacramental fellowship of Judeo-Christian believers with catholic, orthodox, and protestant backgrounds who resonate with a deep, rich, mystical orthodox-catholic theology.  When gathered to receive the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, in that very covenant renewing act constitutive of the being of the Church, that ritual act enables the Church to be the Bride of Christ. (ref, Zizioulas, John D. Being As Communion. 1985).

What we believe . . .

Though our theology is deep and rich, our praxis or manner of life is simple: “love God and love neighbor as He has commanded.”  Thus, we are historically considered catholic but not Roman Catholic, orthodox but not Eastern Orthodox, evangelical but not Mainline or Evangelical Protestant.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Eph. 2:8-9 NKJV).

When we gather to worship . . .

Our mode of corporate worship is liturgical with components of the liturgy dating back to 1312 BC, ancient Jewish Temple worship, Synagogue worship, first century worship as described in Acts 2:42, The Didache, and as mentioned later by Justine Martyr in the 2nd century.   From then on, the different Liturgies or “the Prayers of the People” have been continuously updated.

Thus, true worship is living, and it inspires one to a noble goal: “to be transformed in His Presence and to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and then reflect that beauty to a lost and dying world” (see Ps 27, Amplified Bible).

Key Points to Consider

A New Covenant
The Eucharist is the center point of our liturgical worship; the Incarnate, Crucified and now Risen soon coming King Jesus Christ, is the main focus.

A New Commandment
When all else in this world has passed away – Eternal Love remains. Therefore, “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God which is your reasonable manner of life” (Romans 12:1-2).

A New Perspective
An Ancient Future Faith: “The road to our future runs through our past.” “In many ways, the 21 st Century is a mirror reflection of the 1 st Century.” (Robert Webber, Founder Institute for Worship Studies). How we pray and worship shapes what we believe, which in turn influences how we live our lives. Thus, worship, faith, and practice are interconnected.

A New Beginning
“His grace is new every morning.” No matter your church background or not, all those baptized into Christ’s death via a historical Trinitarian Baptism are invited to experience the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist during the Sacred Liturgy.

An Invitation To Consider . . .

God, theology, life, worship, death, eternity – all of them involve mystery - like a “cloud of unknowing.” Our presentation and theology may seem foreign or maybe complicated to some. To others it will be more familiar. Far be it from us to say we have the mysteries of God and life all figured out.

However, our Worship Liturgy is beautiful, contemplative, historical, and meaningful when experienced. Our Pastoral leadership team is well educated and here to help explain and provide historical resources if needed. Here promote a proven paradigm for evangelization – invite, bring, receive, and give. Thus, we would like to invite you to consider a spiritual restart. “Come and taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34). There is a place for you here to celebrate the Divine Liturgy. We have lots to talk about, and we would be happy to answer questions and share the theology and practices of the historical undivided Church.

Blessings and peace,

Fr. Bruce & Marcia
